AI, or Artificial Intelligence creatures are non-playable entities that wander the map, fighting or fleeing from players. They can be hunted for food or to fulfill quest objectives.
Standard Critters[]
Most, if not all critters vary in growth. At smaller growth stages, they will flee at the sight of a player and give very little food when killed. Larger growth stages will charge and attack players at certain growth stages. Larger critters will also give more food.
Alpha Critters[]
Alpha critters tend to be larger and more distinctly colored than their standard counterparts. Alpha critters will attack players regardless of whatever growth stage their character is at. Alpha critters are designed to be more of a rare challenge for players and will also give more food than even their standard counterparts when killed.

Critter Burrows[]
As of patch 1.13, the only maps, Gondwa and Panjura have numerous burrows on them, and disturbing burrows takes several seconds, and when killed, if your Dinosaur is big enough, they could pick up the whole body. Critters can be observed returning to their burrows if the hunt is discontinued and they are left alone long enough. If the player approaches they will continue to flee.
