Kentrosaurus is a medium sized terrestrial herbivore. Using its arrangement of sharp plates and surprisingly agile movements, it uses hit and run tactics to bleed its targets out.

Appearance[]

Of the three Stegosauridae members currently in-game, Kentrosaurus is the smallest genus. Much like its larger cousin, it possesses rows of spikes that extend from its neck to its tail. However, these structures aren't just for display. They are extremely sharp, and will injure whatever touches it.

Paleo Info[]

Kentrosaurus is a genus of stegosaurian dinosaur from the Late Jurassic of Tanzania. The type species is K. aethiopicus, named and described by German paleontologist Edwin Hennig in 1915. Often thought to be a "primitive" member of the Stegosauria, several recent cladistic analyses find it as more derived than many other stegosaurs, and a close relative of Stegosaurus from the North American Morrison Formation within the Stegosauridae. Fossils show it existed between 163.5 million years ago - 145 million years ago. Kentrosaurus belongs to the family Stegosauridae.

Survival Information[]

Offense:

  • Tail Attack: The default tail attack. It is the highest damaging attack for the Kentro, and it inflicts decent Bleed. This should be your main attack when fighting. This attack is good when being chased by an enemy, and you can land multiple headshots on them with it. This is best used against mobile enemies that will try to run at you to land blows, allowing you to use your sprint and faster turning radius to evade their attack and hit them in retaliation. Slower opponents are at high risk from this attack because they can't easily dodge it.
  • Tail Swing (Charged): This attack is Kentro's charged attack meaning that it is weak at the earliest swing, and is at max damage after the tail is fully curled. Kentro will make a warning roar, and the tail will start to curl up. This attack has less base damage than the basic Tail Attack, so it shouldn't be used as often. However, the Bleed is much heavier with this attack if fully charged beforehand. Both Tail attacks share a cooldown. So keep this in mind when choosing which attacks to use.
  • Death Rattle: This ability increases your attack damage by a high amount. The ability requires a 5 second "start up" animation before you can begin to attack. It lasts 45 seconds, and has a cooldown of 5 minutes.

Defense:

  • Spiked Hide: The Kentro's personal passive trait. This cannot be removed and is always active. When attacked by any source (bite, claw, stomp), the attacker starts Bleeding.
  • Tough Scutes: A good option if extra survivability is your goal.
  • Lightweight Scales: This increases your movement speed.

Metabolism:

  • Herbivore: The default metabolism. It has moderate food and water drain, and you are restricted to only eat Berries Melons and bananas. For new players, this metabolism may be a little bit of an annoyance because they haven't memorized where local Berries are. However, experienced players tend to stick with this diet due to it being slower drain than Forager, and it doesn't reduce total Stamina and Recovery speed.
  • Forager: Available at Adolescent along with Fat Reserves. Faster food and water drain in exchange for being able to eat more types of foods: Nuts, Fruits, Roots, and Flowers. This is better for young questing Kentro's who can eat on the run. They can collect their Acorns or Yarrows, and munch on them while doing it. As adults, Kentro's are better off using Herbivore or Fat Reserves as the food and water drain is more detrimental for those who like to fight other players.
