Status Effects are special conditions that can be applied on players during combat. Only specific abilities apply Status Effects.
Mechanics[]
Inflicting Status Effects[]
To inflict a Status Effect, a player must have an ability that inflicts that Effect. For instance, if the player wanted to inflict Bleed as Spinosaurus they need to equip the Claw Swipe ability. Abilities that inflict Status Effects have a base value they inflict, however the amount inflicted depends on the attacker and target's weight. The equation for inflicted status is (AttackerWeight/VictimWeight)*StatusValue. If a Spinosaurus were to hit an Eotriceratops with Claw Attack, the Bleed inflicted would be: (7000/6700)*0.5= 0.52 Bleed. The damage inflicted by bleed directly reduces the targets health, bypassing any Armor.
For Bleed and Venom, the total health and stamina drained on the target additionally depends on the targets bleed and venom heal rates. Currently, most playables have the same bleed heal and venom heal rate. Bleed and Venom drain from the target's current health and Stamina, respectively, every second until it heals. Bone Break functions differently, inflicting for a set duration. Bone Break only ends when its duration runs out. The duration of Bone Break applied is the base value of the attack, accounting for weight modifiers. Against a target of equal weight, a Daspletosaurus will deal 20 seconds of Bone Break when using Crushing Bite.
Repeatedly using Status abilities on a target adds onto the duration for every attack. There is no stack limit, allowing every status to be stacked as long as the user keeps attacking.
Recovering Status Effects[]
Players inflicted by a Status Effect passively heal as soon as the Effect is applied. All effect heal rates can be massively increased by sitting or sleeping. Sitting will double the player's heal rate and sleeping will quadruple it. The opposite is true for movement however; trotting will halve the player's heal rate and sprinting will quarter it. This applies to all status effects except Bone Break which does not heal slower when the player is moving, however it can still be healed faster by sitting and sleeping.

Tips[]
- When playing as a dino with Bleed, take advantage of the reduced healing rate when moving. Keep your target trotting or sprinting to make the most of your Bleed.
- Stack Statuses to increase the severity of the effect. Venom takes several stacks to begin to visibly drain the targets Stamina, so stacking is vital if you are playing as Metriacanthosaurus or Megalania
- When inflicted with Bleed or Venom, balance between killing the target and staying stationary to reduce the damage you take or Stamina you lose. As a dino with a fast sitting/standing animation like Albertaceratops, quickly sitting for a couple seconds then standing up will take several seconds off the duration of the effect.
