The Thalassodromeus is a medium-sized flying carnivore. Able to fly high and dive underwater, it can attack prey in practically any terrain, although its frailty greatly holds it back.
Description[]
The Thalassodromeus is a medium-sized pterosaur known for its distinct and impressive crest. Thalassodromeus has large, powerful wings to carry itself up into the air, with loud and unique calls for communicating and signalling to others. Thalassodromeus is one of the most maneuverable playables in Path of Titans, able to travel easily on land, sky and sea. However, its proficiency in movement is offset by its fragility in combat.

Paleo Info[]
Thalassodromeus is a genus of pterosaur that lived in what is now Brazil during the Early Cretaceous period, about 100 million years ago. It had one of the largest known skulls among pterosaurs, around 1.42 m (4 ft 8 in) long, with one of the proportionally largest cranial crests of any vertebrate. Though only the skull is known. The crest was lightly built and ran from the tip of the upper jaw to beyond the back of the skull, ending in a unique V-shaped notch. The jaws were toothless and had sharp upper and lower edges. Its skull had a large nasoantorbital fenestrae (the opening that combined the antorbital fenestra in front of the eye with the bony nostril), and part of its palate was concave. The lower jaw was blade-like and may have turned slightly upwards. Thalassodromeus belongs to the clade Azhdarchoidea.
Abilities[]
These are the Abilities Thalassodromeus can use for combat.
Flight[]
A new feature that is exclusive to this character, and all the other winged pterosaurs to follow, is full-fledged flight. In order to take to the air, you must double tap the respective jump button. To land, simply slow your flight speed and press the crouch button, or alternatively, just fly to the ground. Just be sure that you have slowed down beforehand, or you will take collision damage. While flying, Thala loses stamina at a steady rate. Moving forward or increasing altitude will drain stamina faster. By not moving the movement key/stick you will begin to soar. This allows some forward distance while reducing stamina drain. However, you will start to lose altitude and speed if you do not occasionally move the forward input. Sprinting in flight is possible and will allow you to move fly slightly faster when ascending or soaring but costs more stamina to maintain. If you run out of stamina mid-flight, you will slowly descend as if you were intending to do so but you will not be able to soar until touchdown.
Survivability[]
Thalassodromeus has, debatably, the best chances of survival due to it being a flyer. However, it is also extremely frail. A juvenile can be one-shotted by many of the larger characters even when they are not adults. The only offensive ability is a bite, which is not very powerful. This means that combat wise, Thala must either pick off juveniles or cannibalize. Alternatively, it can be a vulture and eat other players' leftovers. Thala also has Fish Eater, so it can also hunt for fish. Currently, Thala is also capable of swimming and is actually very maneuverable in water. So as a means of escaping land predators, Thala can run into the water and regenerate stamina that can be used to fly to a higher area that cannot be reached by any land predator. When flying, players must be careful to not crash into anything as this will do a large amount of damage. HP regen and stamina regen are pretty fast though.

Trivia[]
- It was a part of the twelfth stretch goal, worth $177K AUD ~ $120K USD.
- Thalassodromeus was the first flying playable released in Path of Titans, along with the first fully aquatic playable and island map, Gondwa.
- Thalassdromeus' diet is very obvious from the fossil record. While other tapejarids ate fruit, Thalassodromeus functioned more analogously to a modern day stork or raven, as a carnivore. A swift-footed and flying predator with a scissor-like beak, it could slice up any potential meal with ease.
- Thalassodromeus has only one ability used for combat.
